WhiteRAY is an IT startup founded at MIT Global Startup Labs 2013 by six passionate IT undergraduates with one vision. That is to use innovative IT solutions to enhance life in the communities around us. We as a company focus on social entrepreneurship and hope to contribute to the local community through our maximum potential.
The first product of WhiteRAY does not focus on solving major social problems like hunger or to find homes for the homeless, but it does aim to solve a very critical issue faced by every phone user in Sri Lanka.
So what is the problem??? Think a minute, have you ever faced a situation where you forgot your phone at home and didn’t realize it till you got to work? And to make things worse you were to receive an important call whose contact number you cannot remember, imagine how panicked you would be. What if you had a way to convey the message to that person to reach to you through a different number? CarelessDROID; the first product of WhiteRAY will serve all you careless people and make your life easy. Initially, the product focuses a niche market of Android phone users in Sri Lanka.
CarelessDROID is to be released in two versions addressing many other critical issues we all face in our busy lives. The first version would be released on 1st August 2013 marking the end of MIT GSL 2013 and the beginning of WhiteRAY.
Behind all the success of WhiteRAY stands the MIT GSL 2013 instructors: Amber Houghstow, Akanksha Midha, Dhaval Adjodah, Lashan Silva, Valerie Young and our very supportive mentors: Lasith Lansakara, Chanaka Wickramasuriya, Samith Wimalana.
