Ever wish you could send that email message to your client or colleague while you had no access to a computer. Better still, do you wish you could send an email in the same easy way as sending a text (sms) message. Well now there is a solution and its available for free in Sri Lanka. The friendly application that will do all this for you is ‘Shorty’.

Shorty is a free application that can be downloaded from your phone (via GPRS) or via your internet connection (and then transferred to your mobile via a data cable).

What’s important to note is that the cost of sending an email is much less than sending a text (sms) message. It only cost Rs 0.05! That’s right its about 5 cents and that’s including tax! (depending on how much your network operator charges per KB).

Shorty will not only allow you to send emails, it will also allow you to send text (SMS) messages to Mobitel customers (more networks will be added soon). So if you are a Mobitel or Dialog customer, you can send SMS to your Mobitel clients for only 5 cents! (Note- The application does not guarantee that the SMS will be sent, it all depends on the traffic of your network).

As shown in the image, select ‘Shorty’ and then the file will download to your phone or to your computer.

If you are using a computer, ensure that the file you download is then transferred to your phone via a data cable. (Please do not call us and ask if the application works on a computer).
