Live Blog – Sri Lanka .NET Forum Meetup – April 2014

3011

Will be discussing some important things in architecting solutions using .NET and Lambda Expressions in depth will be explored.

More info: here

[update]Due to the illness of Joy Rathnayake he wont able to deliver his session today. So on behalf of him.Chaminda Chandrasekara will do a session on Build-Deploy-Test Part 3′.

And since we also have a match to catch up with, we are signing off .

Good Night everyone.

WOW. Chamindas VM is corrupted. So we wont be having a second session tonight.

From Press From Press Apr 3, 20146:59 pm

Jaliya concludes his session with that demonstration.

From Press From Press Apr 3, 20146:51 pm

Apparently Jaliya has many errors in his compiler at the moment, the crowd here help him to get them corrected.

From Press From Press Apr 3, 20146:46 pm

Jaliya asks suggestions for alternatives codes from the floor and crowd does helps here.

From Press From Press Apr 3, 20146:43 pm

Jaliya is back to his demo where she demonstrates the Lambda fallbacks he just explained.

Lambdas as callbacks: Executable code that is passed as an argument to other code. – Jaliya

From Press From Press Apr 3, 20146:35 pm

Action delegate actually does not return anything. takes up to 16 parameters.

Func delegates return a value.

Pedicate delegate take one parameter and returns Boolean.

Using a name method and an anonymous method is what Jaliya is now demonstrating now.

From Press From Press Apr 3, 20146:24 pm

Jaliya will explain the Lambda expression writing with a demo now.

From Press From Press Apr 3, 20146:20 pm

Delegates can be chained together. Multiple methods can be called in a single event. – Jaliya

What are the delegates in C#?

Delegates are like C++ function pointers. – Jaliya

From Press From Press Apr 3, 20146:16 pm

C# 2.0 introduced anonymous methods, which allow code blocks to be written “inline” where delegate values are expected. C# 3.0 introduces lambda expressions, which provide a more concise, functional programming syntax for writing anonymous methods.

In this session let’s explore Lambda Expressions in depth. – Jaliya

From Press From Press Apr 3, 20146:15 pm

Jaliya Udagedara (MVP – Visual C#) will be first up who will be speaking on Lambda Expression on C# From Beginner To Expert.
