PC House Wins Gold at SLMBA
The role played by PC House Private Limited in the Sri Lankan IT scene has long been that of an innovator. Winning the coveted gold award in the Information and Technology Category at the recently concluded 6th Annual Sri Lanka - Malaysia Business Awards Ceremony further established this title. The main aim of the Awards is to strengthen bi-lateral trade and ties between the two nations while also recognizing the individual contributions of companies toward the strengthening of opportunities for trade between Sri Lanka and Malaysia in the last decade.
The award presentation took place at the Hilton. Prof. G. L. Peiris, Minister of Export Development&International Trade, His Excellency Rosli Ismail, Malaysian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka and Patron of the Sri Lanka- Malaysia Business Council, H.E. Dr. D. D. Ranasinghe, Sri Lankan High Commissioner to Malaysia, Dr. Anura Ekanayake, Chairman, The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce.
Speaking on the award, Mr. S.H.M Rishan, Chairman PC House,&its group PCH Holdings was enthusiastic in his plans for further trade in Malaysia. “As a company we believe in doing our best in whatever we undertake. This applies not just in a local context but in the international context as well. Through our partnership with international brands, we have entered the Malaysian business community and furthered our reputation as the benchmark in quality IT solutions as well as customer care.”
The criteria this year placed special significance on Corporate Social Responsibility and Research and Development activities consistently carried out by competing companies over the span of 3-5years. While PC House has been dealing with Malaysia only for a short time, the companies’ reputation for high quality products and above standard service has already made a mark in the Malaysian market. Through the recently initiated partnership with Dell, PC House has taken its truly Sri Lankan approach to customer care into an international arena, making a lasting and positive impression of both the company as well as Sri Lankan IT industry itself.
Speaking on the opening up of new markets for Sri Lankan IT companies abroad, Mr. Rizwan Anise, Head of Marketing PC House&PCH Holdings, stressed on the need for companies to constantly challenge themselves to better their past performances. “We believe that there are many untapped markets in the local and global arena. As a company we strive to constantly challenge ourselves and better the standards we have adhered to. Locally we are well known for our island wide outlets and above par customer service. Through our expansion to Malaysia, we hope to establish PC House as an international company, while maintaining our local presence and continuing to better the care and service provided to our customers”.
Speaking on the judging criteria and true achievement of the gold award Mr. Kevin De Silva, President of the SLMBC emphasized on the importance of the history of the company and all aspects of its performance. “Over the years, our judging criteria have evolved to include all important aspects of a business. Ranging from the overall company history, the CSR aspects and the knowledge and skills pool of a company all the way to intellectual property and Market development. PC House not only meets all aspects of our criteria, but has sets a higher standard in the overall performance.”
The achievement of the Gold award is a highly valued achievement for a company that gives a lot back to the communities it works with. PC House has always focused on the client and the company strongly believes that this is the ultimate goal for success.
