Intel’s Cutting-Edge Technology, Strategic Programs and World-Class Training help Sri Lankan Channel Members Sustain Growth
Colombo, Sri Lanka, May 2009 – Intel recently concluded its annual Asia-Pacific Intel Solutions Summit (ISS) 2009 at Gold Coast, Australia for over 300 premier resellers to receive updates on cutting-edge technology, initiatives and obtain world-class training to help grow their business. Key channel partners from Sri Lanka Mr. M. U.M. Naushad of Tech Information Solutions, Mr. A. J. M. Mahir of Wescom Information Technology, Mr. Shafraz Hamzadeen of eSys Information Technologies Ltd, Mr. Ramesh Umashankar of eSys Information Technologies Ltd, Mr. Sumedha Fernando and Mr. Disney Fernando of Everex Computers Pvt Ltd. and Mr. Rajiv Shivashankar, E-Globe Solutions (Pvt) Ltd attended.
At the summit, which is Intel’s largest annual channel customer conference for the Asia-Pacific region, Intel executives voiced a common theme in keynote addresses – that the company is focused more than ever to drive product innovation and develop new markets to help ignite market growth for channel partners in 2009, even in difficult economic times.
Indika de Zoysa, Country
Business Manager, Intel EM Limited, Sri Lanka Liaison office said, “The ISS
APAC 2009 has helped our Sri Lankan Channel Partners keep themselves abreast
with the latest in Intel’s products and
service offerings as well as current and upcoming technological trends. I’m
happy that an increasing number of our local partners are actively
participating in such forums and hope that the world class training provided
helps them develop their business. The opportunity to interact with their
regional counterparts too has provided them with valuable insights.”
Steve
Dallman, Intel VP of Sales and Marketing Group and General Manager of the
Worldwide Reseller Channel Organization, was one of the executives speaking at
the APAC Intel Solutions Summit (ISS) where over 300 premier resellers attended
to receive updates on cutting-edge technology, initiatives and obtain
world-class training to help grow their business. Giving high praise, Dallman
said, “The Channel has led in new technology transitions such as the ramp of
45nm process technology-based products, Quad-Core and Intel® Core™ i7
processors. I have confidence that this trend will continue with 32nm process
technology expected later this year.”
Dallman said there are
compelling reasons for end users to upgrade technology that presents business
opportunities for resellers. “Thirty-seven percent of today’s notebooks and
sixty percent of PC desktops are greater than three years old,” Dallman said.
“This presents a great opportunity for resellers to provide technology upgrades
with statistics showing that support costs for PCs over three years old rise by
up to 50 percent and new PCs can do twice as much as a three-year old system.”
