Informatics Institute of Technology organised an IT and business quiz for schools from Colombo as well as from the outstations. Approximately twenty five teams, both from the government and private sectors, participated in this event which was held at Informatics Institute of Technology on 18 June 2009.  The quiz, which consisted of three rounds of general knowledge, IQ, and IT- and business-related questions, was keenly contested by all the participating schools.  Much enthusiasm and enjoyment was displayed by all the students while taking part in the various activities assigned to them and their competitive approach brought out their talents, learning and innovative spirit.

The first place in the IT category of this tightly contested competition was won by De  Mazenod College, Kandana while Royal College, Colombo won the runners-up position. Mr. Hasith Wickramasinghe presented the trophies to the winning teams. In the business category, D S Senanayake College, Colombo won first place while Ananda College, Colombo was the runners-up. On the left is D S Senanayake College’s team leader receiving the winner’s trophy and on the right is Alethea International School taking part in the Business quiz.

Judging from the popularity of this event among the participating schools as well as among the students at IIT, it is envisaged that this annual event will be highly anticipated by both organisers and participants alike.
