Intel, Micron Introduce 25nm NAND Flash Production

2010 will go down as the year flash storage goes mainstream. Intel-Micron Flash Technologies -- a Lehi, Utah-based joint venture from the two companies that's been sharing technology and flash production since 2005 -- has unveiled its 25 nanometer flash production process.

Google to pay bounties for Chrome browser bugs

Google announced a bug-bounty program that will pay researchers $500 for each vulnerability they report in the Chrome browser and its underlying open-source code. Chris Evans, who works on the Chrome security team, said the base bounty would be $500, but that "particularly severe or particularly clever" bugs would reap rewards of $1,337 each.

Apple's A4 chip, being used in the iPad, could ultimately provide a speed bump to future versions of the company's iPhone, analysts said on Thursday. The product fits somewhere between the iPhone and MacBook laptop, said Apple CEO Steve Jobs.

Oracle hails Java but kills Sun Cloud

Oracle's plans for Java and the proposed Sun Cloud public computing platform became clearer Wednesday, with Oracle executives giving another big thumbs-up to Java but a thumbs-down to Sun Cloud. Java will be expanded to more application types while the public process for amending Java will be made more participatory.
